Meet Lauren Witkowski, LCSW, LICSW. Offering individual in-person therapy in Southington, CT and online across CT and MA.
A supportive space to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with yourself.
If it were as simple as ‘just think positive’ or ‘take a me-day, you would’ve figured that out already (all while juggling your impossibly busy schedule).
The goal of therapy is to help you feel better-but probably not in the quick-fix way you’ve been told.
Therapy with me is about finding a balance between action and understanding.
Together, we’ll explore small, practical changes that bring more balance into your daily life and help you rebuild the confidence that overthinking and overdoing have worn down.
We’ll also take a closer look at the thoughts and beliefs that keep you stuck in the same old patterns.
Real change happens when you start to see where those beliefs came from, understand why they’ve been holding you back, and replace them with ones that actually support you.
MY APPROACH
What it’s like to work with me
Clients describe me as a warm and calming presence. I see therapy as a true collaboration-together we decide our pace, topics, and goals that feel right for you.
I understand that finally saying your fears and pain out loud can be scary. That’s why we will start things slowly, using grounding and breathing techniques to help your nervous system heal too.
We often come to therapy assuming our problems are personal failures, and to fix them, we have to change everything about ourselves. But the truth is the struggles that bring you to therapy aren’t always just about what is happening within you. Our communities, relationships, and daily environments shape how we feel and who we believe we can be.
So while we’ll focus on practical strategies to use right away, we’ll also look at the bigger picture-how the world around you impacts your mental health. Because healing doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens when we make sense of your broader experiences together.
